Woodlawn Lake to celebrate centennial anniversary

On Friday, October 12th, the City of San Antonio will be celebrating the historic Woodlawn Lake Park their 100th anniversary. The party will be hosted by City Council District 7 and Roberto C. Treviño District 1 Councilman.
Enjoy mariachi’s, food trucks, firework show and a screening of the popular Disney/Pixar movie Coco at 7:30pm with Spanish subtitles.
The celebration is open to the public and free admission for the entire family. Bring your lawn chair or blanket and enjoy.
In 1918, the property surrounding the land before what is known now as Woodlawn Lake Park was deeded private ownership from the widow of W. P. Anderson to the City of San Antonio. The area was developed in the late 19th century creating an urban core neighborhood that surrounds the lake on 80 acres of property.
