SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Food lovers will have a chance to enjoy a unique farm-to-table culinary experience while supporting a worthy cause when Wild Barley Kitchen & Brewery and the San Antonio Food Bank host a one-night-only food festival pop-up on June 16.
Held as part of the annual Restaurant Weeks campaign, the special event will take place from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Wild Barley in Alamo Heights. Guests will enjoy chef-crafted dishes from six food stations, along with two drink tickets redeemable for Wild Barley’s house-brewed beers.
Leading the culinary experience is Chef Geronimo Lopez, vice president of culinary operations for the San Antonio Food Bank, who will showcase fresh ingredients harvested from the Food Bank’s Urban Farm. Five of the six tasting stations will feature produce grown locally through the organization’s agricultural initiatives, creating a true farm-to-table dining experience.
“As we planned the second annual San Antonio Food Bank Restaurant Weeks, we knew we wanted to raise the bar,” said Marc Fogelsong, co-owner and general manager of Wild Barley Kitchen & Brewery. “At Wild Barley, we’re passionate about building community, and this event is an opportunity to bring people together while supporting a cause that creates meaningful impact for families across San Antonio.”
The event will also feature participation from Francisco Estrada, chef and owner of Naco Mexican Eatery, a James Beard Award semifinalist known for his creative approach to Mexican cuisine.
Supporting Summer Meals for Kids
Proceeds from the event will benefit the San Antonio Food Bank’s Summer Meals for Kids Program, which helps provide nutritious meals to children during the summer months when school cafeterias are closed.
The pop-up serves as an extension of Restaurant Weeks, an annual initiative that brings together local restaurants and chefs to help combat childhood hunger while celebrating San Antonio’s diverse culinary scene.
