The annual Cowboy Breakfast will be taking a pass this year (2021) as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to be present in the community.
The annual event typically draws around 30,000 people from all over town for free tacos and beverages held at the Cowboys Dancehall. Organizers say that they will be concentrating on delivering tacos to non-profit organizations that assisted the community during the pandemic.
The Cowboy Breakfast board is currently in the process of choosing the non-profit and a delivery date as well as a location where all of the tacos will be made said Chuck Christian, the vice chairman of the Cowboy Breakfast foundation.
In 2020, the Cowboy Breakfast served 20,000 servings of picante sauce, 15,000 cups of coffee, 12,000 chorizo and egg tacos, 10,000 beef tacos, 8,000 biscuits, 8,000 bacon and egg tacos, 5,000 sausage wraps, and 5,000 pints of milk and orange juice to anyone who came between 4 to 8 in the morning.
