It’s a website that’s been raising eyebrows across the United States. 24-year-old software engineer Rashiq Zahid was the individual responsible for McBroken.com; a website that lets you know if their ice cream machine is running or broken.
We took a look at the San Antonio area McDonald’s locations and found that 11% are broken. The website provides a map with either red dots indicating that the sweet treat machines are down or green dots representing that they’re serving the soft serve.
“I reverse engineered mcdonald’s internal api and I’m currently placing an order worth $18,752 every minute at every mcdonald’s in the US to figure out which locations have a broken ice cream machine,” wrote Zahid in a post on Twitter.
Rashad revealed the reason why he built the site was for fun after paying a trip to a Germany location and failing twice to buy a sundae.
