U.S. Mint launches Missions quarter

In honor of the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park, the U.S. Mint will be releasing a quarter in commemoration part of the America the Beautiful Quarters program.

The historic Missions pays tribute to San Antonio as they were among the largest concentrations of Spanish missions in North America and their role in making what San Antonio is today.

The quarter was officially launched on September 5th at the Laurel Auditorium at Trinity University at 10am. In attendance will be the coins designer, Chris Costello.

After the launch, a coin exchange follows where attendees can exchange $10 for a roll of the newly minted coins but there is a maximum of $100 in quarters per transaction.

The U.S. Mint honored national sites each year until 2020, the Missions coin was the 49th release in the program.
