Downtown San Antonio is about to go through some major changes and the skyline will have two new buildings in the mix. The San Antonio Historic Design Review Commission has approved the 29-story residential tower and a three-story building boasting a 30,000 square foot of retail space proposed with a public and private partnership with Post Lake Capital Partners and Hemisfair.
โResidential development in the Hemisfair District is key as we prepare for San Antonioโs population growth,โ said Andres Andujar, Hemisfair CEO. โWe are replacing the density of the population that lived in the District before HemisFair โ68 to bring back the neighborhood and the vitality that comes from people living next to open spaces. Neighbors use the park daily and bring a sense of security to the area.โ
Next to the 29-story building will be a 7-story parking garage structure that will fill the parking needs of both residents and the nearby 10-story, 347 room Kimpton boutique hotel that will be constructed.
All three structures will encompass the new 16-acre Civic Park green space within the 1968 “HemisFair” International Exposition grounds. This new park will be the epic-center of downtown San Antonio as a meeting space for events, festivals and more!
