Two local gas stations to refund customers after price gouging

Two area gas stations are ordered to refund customers who were charging high outrageous prices during Hurricane Harvey.

According to Attorney General Ken Paxton, he said most of the gas stations that charged exorbitant prices are up in the Dallas metroplex.

“At the outset of Harvey, I made it clear that my office would not tolerate price gouging of Texans by anyone looking to profit from the hurricane,” Paxton said in a news release announcing the settlements. “The response to Hurricane Harvey showed the incredible generosity of Texans. These settlements should teach the few who take advantage of their fellow residents to follow the law in the future.”

The two local gas stations that will be refunding their customers are:

  • 19605 I-10 West – Shell – settlement $1,735.00
  • 15200 I-10 West – Exxon – settlement $1,363.50
