The City and County wants us to remind you about the Fireworks ban

So it’s that time of year to celebrate freedom with fireworks. Now if you’re the do it yourself type and want to control the pyrotechnics, you may want to reconsider if it’s worth it.

Shooting off fireworks inside the county and the city is illegal and with the burn ban in full effect is not a laughing matter. In fact Bexar County Commissioners Court had forced the suspension of sale of any rockets with sticks, missiles, missiles with fins and any other firework that could stay off starting a field fire somewhere.

“With conditions as dry as they are, I urge the public to please exercise extreme caution when setting off fireworks. The safest way to enjoy fireworks is to watch a public display put on by professionals.

  • Bexar County Fire Marshall Chris Lopez

There is a hotline number incase you wanna rat out anyone who’s shooting fireworks in the city/county. 210-335-FIRE (3473)

Remember, if you end up shooting fireworks and set someone’s home or grass on fire, you can be charged for arson.

Play it safe and leave it to the professionals.
