SAN ANTONIO (Feb. 27, 2026) โ€” Two Texas legends are joining forces to mark 190 years of independence with a limited-edition apparel drop honoring Texas Independence Day.

In celebration of March 2, The Alamo and Whataburger have unveiled a special collaboration featuring commemorative t-shirts that blend the heritage of the historic San Antonio landmark with the unmistakable iconography of the beloved burger brand.

The collection includes two exclusive designs. A blue tee features a Texas-shaped graphic incorporating an Alamo cannon, classic Whataburger table tents and the iconic Flying W pole sign that has become a beacon for generations of Texans. An oatmeal-colored version showcases the historic Alamo mission alongside the legendary Whataburger sign, stamped with a bold declaration: โ€œTexas Forever.โ€

Both shirts will be available for a one-day-only price of $18.36 on March 2, a nod to the pivotal year of 1836 in Texas history.

On March 2, 1836, delegates gathered at Washington-on-the-Brazos declared Texas independent from Mexico while the Alamo garrison remained under siege. Just days later, on March 6, the Battle of the Alamo concluded. Though the battle ended in defeat, the rallying cry โ€œRemember the Alamoโ€ galvanized Texan forces, ultimately leading to victory at the Battle of San Jacinto and the birth of the Republic of Texas.

Nearly two centuries later, that spirit of independence and pride continues to resonate across the state โ€” from historic landmarks to modern-day traditions.

Fans can purchase the limited-edition shirts in person at the Alamo Gift Shop and online through the Whatastore beginning March 2, while supplies last.
