Tejano concert to help benefit Janie’s Record Shop

Janie’s Record Shop at 1012 Bandera Road has been an institution for Tejano and Conjunto musicians and music lovers alike. You’ll be able to discover hard-to-find LP’s, cassette tapes and CD’s of all genres of music. They’ve helped serve the San Antonio area for nearly 36 years. Janie Esparza, now almost 95 years old has handed over the family business to her children Robert Esparza and Becky Deleon.

Janie has been inducted into four hall of fame that include 2003 National Hispanic Hall of Fame, 2011 Tejano Music Awards Lifetime Achievement Award, 2012 Narciso Martinez Conjunto Hall of Fame and the 2015 South Texas Association Conjunto Hall of Fame.

To honor the 36th anniversary of Janie’s Record Shop and the contribution to Tejano and Conjunto music, there will be a benefit concert at Thirsty Horse Saloon on Sunday, August 1, 2021. Featured artists to perform include: David Lee Garza y Los Musicales, Ruben Ramos, Los Desperadoz, LaDezz, Rick Fuentes and many more.

You’ll be able to get your tickets at Gilbert’s Mexican Restaurant, Janie’s Record Shop, and Cavender’s Boot City.

All proceeds will help benefit Janie’s Record Shop stay in business.
