“Stuff The Bus” Campaign with Pearl and The CE Group Aims to Support Underserved Students
San Antonio, TX (July 31, 2024) — In a collaborative effort to support underserved students, Pearl and The CE Group, Inc. are partnering with Communities In Schools of San Antonio (CIS-SA) for the annual “Stuff The Bus” School Supply Drive. This initiative aims to collect essential school supplies, particularly backpacks, for students in need across San Antonio.
The rising costs of school supplies have placed a significant burden on many families, with the National Retail Federation reporting an average expense of $890 per family in 2023. As prices continue to rise in 2024, the need for support is greater than ever.
The CIS-SA “Stuff The Bus” School Supply Drive has been a crucial resource for providing free supplies to thousands of students and families each year. The organization’s efforts have expanded to over 160 schools and 11 school districts in the San Antonio area.
This year, Pearl and The CE Group are hosting an experiential event on Wednesday, August 7th, from 11 AM to 2 PM at 307 Pearl Pkwy. Participants are encouraged to “Stuff The Bus” with donated backpacks, with a special incentive of winning tickets to see the musical trio LA LOM at Stable Hall.
Janet Holliday, President and CEO of The CE Group, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership: “As part of our Champions of Experience initiative, we are thrilled to collaborate with Pearl and CIS-SA to support the next generation of leaders with the tools they need for a brighter future.”
Pearl CEO Mesha Millsap also emphasized the community’s role in the initiative: “We believe that the visionaries of tomorrow are the students of today. By facilitating this drive, we aim to equip them with the necessary resources.”
