State of Texas gives Traders Village approval to open

Traders Village has been battling the City of San Antonio for a week after being shut down along with other flea markets amid the opening of Gov. Greg Abbott’s executive order. Today that has changed. They’ll be opening on May 9th – 10th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

President of Traders Village Tim Anderson said he has received the green light from the Texas Division of Emergency Management in confirming to open via email. The open air market has about 500 vendors that will be able to open and sell. They will abide by the governors 25% capacity rule.

The mega outdoor market is prepared with social distancing plans and approved occupancy. They’re asking all of their customers to wear face coverings. Hand sanitizing stations will be placed throughout the grounds. Restrooms will be open and maintained regularly with a limitation of the amount of people entering. All seating will be spread apart 6 feet away from other parties. Parking will be $4 and limited amount of entry lanes will keep an accurate count of how many people are entering according to their website.

Rides will not be operational and will have no live music. There will be limited amount of beer and food stands open. They’re also asking to keep pets at home with the exception of service animals.
