Spurs rookie player to have knee surgery
The San Antonio Spurs will have to go without Lonnie Walker IV for about six to eight weeks. Lonnie had injured his knee during the pre-season game on Friday (October 5).
An MRI exam showed that Lonnie suffered from a torn medial meniscus and the rookie guard will have to undergo surgery by Dr. David Schmidt.
There is no time table for the Spurs’ first-round pick to return to the court.
Lonnie had suffered a similar injury when he was playing with the Hurricanes in Miami during a summer workout before the beginning of his freshman season and returned November just in time for the season opener.
