Spurs guard suffers head injury with USA Basketball team
San Antonio Spurs guard Derrick White was playing for Team USA when it appeared that he was tripped while dribbling down the court midway during the first quarter.
In a video replay, you see White take a spill onto the wooden playing surface and hitting his forehead with such tremendous force during a game against Australia in Melbourne on Saturday.
White was named final World Cup roster to Men’s Select Team for the USA Team back in June but his future seems to be uncertain for the start of the tournament in China.
Team USA lost in an upset 94 – 98 win by Australia, which White’s Spurs teammate Patty Mills was playing for.
Derrick White left the game after this scary fall.
He walked off the court without help and headed back to the locker room with a member of the United States training staff.
This is why international injuries are such a major concern for front offices. pic.twitter.com/hk2FQKzMZU
