SAN ANTONIO — Six Flags Fiesta Texas has officially announced the addition of Werewolf Gorge, a groundbreaking new attraction set to debut in 2027 as part of the park’s 35th anniversary celebration.
Revealed during a special event held May 30 beneath a rare blue full moon, Werewolf Gorge will become the world’s longest family launch roller coaster and the longest roller coaster ever built at the San Antonio theme park.
Manufactured by Vekoma, the new attraction will stretch 4,120 feet and deliver a two-minute, 36-second ride experience featuring four launches, speeds reaching 45 mph, and 32 floater airtime moments, a record-setting number for a family coaster.
According to park officials, Werewolf Gorge combines several ride elements never before featured together on a single family roller coaster, including four launches, a mid-course rollback, and a 39-inch height requirement designed to make the attraction accessible to younger riders and families.

It delivers an experience that is approachable for families, yet unmatched anywhere in the world.”
A Texas Quarry Legend Comes to Life
Set within the park’s iconic quarry landscape, Werewolf Gorge places guests inside a mysterious Texas mining operation haunted by a centuries-old werewolf curse.
What begins as a routine quarry tour aboard a mining train quickly transforms into a high-speed escape through rugged terrain, dense pine forests, and eerie encounters with supernatural creatures.
The ride experience will feature:
- Four launches throughout the course
- A 40-foot drop
- An 85-foot elevation change
- 32 floater airtime moments
- Near-miss encounters with towering werewolf figures
- A finale through a collapsing quarry structure filled with glowing eyes and mysterious movement
The attraction’s story extends beyond the coaster itself. Guests will enter through themed environments connected to the fictional world of Jasper Bunyan, an eccentric entrepreneur who transformed the abandoned quarry into a roadside attraction centered on cryptid legends.
Queue areas will include immersive spaces such as the Museum of Cryptids and the Werewolf Museum, helping build the attraction’s storyline before riders ever board the train.
Expanding Family Thrills
Park officials say the addition continues Six Flags Fiesta Texas’ strategy of investing in family-focused attractions that can be enjoyed by multiple generations while still delivering major thrills.
Werewolf Gorge will join an already acclaimed lineup of roller coasters and attractions at the park, adding a unique blend of storytelling and coaster technology to the guest experience.
The attraction was first teased in 2025 through mysterious full moon-themed activations throughout the park. The official reveal culminated with a themed presentation and a drone show that illuminated the night sky with the Werewolf Gorge logo.
Opening in 2027
Werewolf Gorge is scheduled to open during Six Flags Fiesta Texas’ 35th anniversary season in 2027.
Guests interested in riding the attraction when it opens can purchase season passes or memberships that provide access to multiple parks across the region, including Schlitterbahn New Braunfels and Six Flags Over Texas.
Park officials also announced that a Memorial Day sale on season passes has been extended through June 7.
