SAN ANTONIO — Guests gathered inside Zaragoza Theater at Six Flags Fiesta Texas on Saturday, May 30, for one of the park’s most anticipated announcements in recent memory. Beginning at exactly 8:18 p.m., the special FT92 presentation brought together coaster enthusiasts, season pass holders, and park guests eager to discover the meaning behind months of cryptic clues scattered throughout the park. The event ultimately unveiled a major new attraction while also offering a preview of upcoming entertainment experiences scheduled throughout the remainder of 2026 and into 2027.
The centerpiece of the evening was the official announcement of Werewolf Gorge, a record-breaking family roller coaster that will debut during the park’s 35th anniversary season in 2027. According to park officials, the attraction will become both the world’s longest family launch roller coaster and the longest roller coaster ever constructed at Six Flags Fiesta Texas.
Manufactured by Vekoma, Werewolf Gorge will stretch an impressive 4,120 feet through the park’s iconic quarry landscape. Riders will experience a two-minute and 36-second adventure featuring four launches, speeds reaching 45 miles per hour, a 40-foot drop, an 85-foot elevation change, and an industry-leading 32 floater airtime moments for a family coaster. Park officials noted that the attraction combines ride elements never before assembled together on a family coaster, including four launches, a mid-course rollback, and a family-friendly 39-inch height requirement. A Werewolf Legend Hidden in the Texas Quarry
The attraction’s story is deeply rooted in the park’s real quarry setting. Guests will board what appears to be a routine mining train tour through a forgotten Texas quarry before finding themselves trapped in a supernatural encounter with a centuries-old werewolf curse.
The experience will send riders racing through dense forests, rocky quarry walls, and immersive themed environments filled with cryptid lore and mysterious encounters. Throughout the ride, guests will experience near-miss interactions with towering werewolf figures, dramatic terrain-driven maneuvers, and a climactic finale through a crumbling quarry structure illuminated by glowing eyes and shadowy movement.
The storytelling extends beyond the coaster itself. Guests entering the attraction will pass through themed queue experiences including the Museum of Cryptids and the Werewolf Museum, both tied to the fictional world of Jasper Bunyan, an eccentric entrepreneur who transformed the abandoned quarry into a roadside attraction dedicated to unexplained creatures and local legends.
The announcement capped off more than a year of speculation after Six Flags Fiesta Texas began teasing the attraction through mysterious full-moon activations and hidden clues that appeared throughout the park beginning in 2025. The reveal concluded with a dramatic drone presentation that illuminated the night sky with the Werewolf Gorge logo beneath a rare blue full moon.
FiestaLuz to Illuminate Summer Nights
Beyond the coaster announcement, park officials used the FT92 event to preview an ambitious summer entertainment lineup.
Among the biggest reveals was FiestaLuz, a new nighttime drone spectacular debuting as part of the park’s Summer Nights celebration. More than 175 illuminated drones will fill the night sky each evening, creating animated displays and storytelling sequences designed to provide guests with a memorable conclusion to their day at the park.
Park officials described FiestaLuz as one of the largest drone entertainment experiences ever presented at Six Flags Fiesta Texas and a major addition to the park’s nighttime offerings.
FiestaLuz will be presented throughout the summer season with the exception of July 3 and July 4, when the park transitions to its annual Fourth of July celebration.
Star-Spangled Nights Returns with Massive Fireworks Displays
For Independence Day, Six Flags Fiesta Texas will once again host Star-Spangled Nights presented by M&M’s, featuring what park officials describe as San Antonio’s most spectacular Fourth of July celebration.
Guests visiting July 3 and July 4 can enjoy patriotic entertainment, themed music, and multiple fireworks presentations throughout the evening. The July 4 celebration will include three separate fireworks shows, culminating in a massive 360-degree fireworks spectacular surrounding the park.
The park encourages guests to spend the day enjoying rides, water attractions, and live entertainment before concluding their visit with the signature nighttime celebration.
Fright Fest Celebrates 30 Years of Terror
Halloween fans also received exciting news during the FT92 presentation.
Fright Fest presented by Snickers will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2026, and park officials teased several new haunted experiences coming this fall.
Among the announcements were Circus Berzerkus: Big Top Terror and a new haunted attraction inspired by The Conjuring horror franchise. While specific details were not revealed, the brief teaser generated considerable excitement among attendees.
The milestone anniversary will mark three decades of Halloween scares at Six Flags Fiesta Texas, one of the park’s most popular seasonal events.
Holiday in the Park Also Reaches a Milestone
The celebrations continue later in the year as Holiday in the Park marks its 30th anniversary.
To help set the mood during the FT92 presentation, organizers surprised attendees by activating snow machines inside Zaragoza Theater despite temperatures outside reflecting the start of summer.

Now in its sixth year, Roller Coaster Rodeo has become one of the premier enthusiast events in the coaster industry. The three-day experience offers participants exclusive ride opportunities, behind-the-scenes tours, special presentations, and all-park Early Ride Time on select attractions.
