SeaWorld Brings the Big Easy to South Texas with Mardi Gras Celebrations

SAN ANTONIO, Texas (January 14, 2025)SeaWorld San Antonio is kicking off the Mardi Gras season in style, bringing a slice of New Orleans to South Texas with festivities starting Saturday, January 18, and running through March 2. Visitors can expect vibrant music, mouthwatering food, and plenty of beads as the park transforms into a lively, jazz-filled carnival atmosphere.

This family-friendly event is included with park admission and offers an array of attractions and activities that celebrate the spirit of Mardi Gras. From Cajun and Creole cuisine to brass band performances and festive parades, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Season and Annual Pass Members can indulge in the fun all season long.


A Taste of New Orleans

SeaWorld’s culinary offerings are a highlight of the Mardi Gras celebration. Guests can savor classic New Orleans dishes at various dining locations, including:

  • Ça C’est Bon! Créole Café and Bayou Bites serving jambalaya, shrimp etouffee, and muffuletta sandwiches.
  • Rio Crispy Coop and Pretzel Kitchen offering po’boys, dirty rice, and freshly made beignets.
  • Smokehouse dishing up Cajun fries and blackened chicken.

In addition to these delicious options, adults can enjoy Mardi Gras-themed drinks like Hurricanes, frozen daiquiris, and signature cocktails, served in collectible hurricane-style souvenir cups. New specialty beverages include the Bourbon Street Daisy and Blue Raspberry French, adding a fresh twist to the menu.


Music and Entertainment Galore

The festival comes alive with the sounds of New Orleans thanks to live performances from Bexar Brass and Brass Animals, blending jazz, funk, and rock for an unforgettable experience.

Adding to the excitement are carnival characters, magicians, and a living statue, creating a vibrant atmosphere reminiscent of Bourbon Street.

New this year is Cajun Critters, an educational presentation featuring fascinating wildlife from Louisiana’s bayous. Visitors can also catch the Krewe’s Beats and Beads Jamboree, a lively parade with colorful floats and bead-throwing performers, happening four times daily.
