NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas — Schlitterbahn New Braunfels officially kicks off daily operations beginning May 21, ushering in the start of summer with the debut of a new attraction, Memorial Day weekend festivities, and special offers honoring military members and veterans.
Leading the excitement for the 2026 season is Wasserbahn Racers, the park’s newest water attraction designed for side-by-side competition and high-speed thrills. Built into the natural hillside near the Comal River, the three-lane mat racing slide gives guests the chance to race friends and family while tracking their times with a built-in real-time stopwatch system.
Designed by WhiteWater, Wasserbahn Racers stretches nearly 279 feet and begins from a 37.6-foot elevation, sending riders face-first down dips, drops, and splash-filled turns at speeds topping 24 miles per hour.
The attraction is already becoming one of the park’s headline experiences as guests flock to the Hill Country destination for Memorial Day weekend.
Schlitterbahn’s transition to daily operations gives visitors access to more than 40 attractions spread across the park’s four areas, including rivers, slides, wave attractions, and family-friendly water experiences.
Another major seasonal favorite also returns this weekend as The Falls reopens Saturday, May 23. Known as the world’s longest waterpark ride, The Falls remains one of Schlitterbahn’s most iconic attractions and a staple for longtime visitors.
To honor those who have served, Schlitterbahn New Braunfels is also offering free admission for U.S. military members and veterans from May 22 through May 25. Guests must present a valid military ID at the front gate to receive admission.
The park is additionally launching a limited-time Memorial Day season pass sale, giving guests unlimited access throughout the summer season. The 2026 season pass includes admission to Schlitterbahn New Braunfels, Six Flags theme parks and waterparks across Texas, as well as Hurricane Harbor Oklahoma City and Frontier City.
Spanning more than 70 acres, Schlitterbahn New Braunfels continues to stand as one of Texas’ most recognized summer destinations, drawing families from across the state with a blend of innovative rides, scenic river experiences, and classic waterpark attractions.
