Author of New York Times bestselling author of The Bloggess, Jenny Lawson has just opened up her own independent bookshop in the town of Alamo Heights at 5154 Broadway Street. The bookstore had originally been established in 2019 but had a ‘bland opening” of their doors to the public in 2021.
This place for everything literature from an array ranging from novels to even a children’s section. There’s even a bar inside that is pending to open up but isn’t yet because of the rising rate of COVID-19 cases. But the owner said when the vaccination rate becomes over 80%, the bar will be serving up coffee, wine and beer.
The bookstore invites customers to come inside and stay awhile and encourages reading like the space was intended.
“It’s been quite a journey, but we’re all very excited,” Jordan says. “The booksellers that we brought on are super enthusiastic, and I think it’s going to be a great place for the community to hang out and talk about books. We’ll eventually get to a place where people can hang out all day, but, for now, we’re just thrilled to talk to people about books again.”
Also side note: the store asks that you wear a face mask inside.
Nowhere is open Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and capacity is at 100%. The store also asks shoppers not to linger around if the store is crowded.
Customers can find parking in the back of the store.
