San Antonio Zoo’s Annual Zoo Run Returns in September
SAN ANTONIO, Texas — San Antonio Zoo is inviting runners of all ages to lace up their shoes and hit the course as the 41st Annual Zoo Run, presented by H-E-B, returns Sept. 11-12.
The two-day event combines competitive racing, family activities and support for wildlife conservation, with separate races planned for adults and children.
Adult runners will take over the course Friday, Sept. 11, with two ways to participate. Teams of four can compete in a 2-mile relay, while individual runners can tackle a 4-mile race.
Participants are also encouraged to dress for the occasion, with animal prints, safari-inspired outfits and wildlife-themed costumes welcomed during the event.
Each adult participant will receive a commemorative 2026 Zoo Run T-shirt, drawstring bag, runner’s bib, light bites and drinks. Registration also includes one complimentary adult admission ticket to San Antonio Zoo and access to the post-race celebration in Runner’s Village.
The racing continues Saturday morning, Sept. 12, with the Kids Zoo Run.
Children ages 1 to 5 can participate in a 0.25-mile race, while children ages 6 to 11 can take on a 0.5-mile course.
Kids Zoo Run participants will receive a commemorative 2026 race T-shirt, drawstring bag and runner’s bib. Registration also includes two standard zoo admission tickets, one for an adult and one for a child, valid on race day.
The annual event gives San Antonio families and runners an opportunity to experience the zoo in a different way while supporting its wildlife conservation efforts.
