San Antonio Zoo shows off 3D flyover of new entrance

San Antonio Zoo entry way

The San Antonio Zoo is renovating their main entrance front gate. Prepare to be amazed at the sights and sounds as well as the rich culture of San Antonio created by local artists.

The gate features a gorilla sculpture, an overhead butterfly art canopy, quick entry points so you’re not waiting in line, a new gift shop experience and lastly a rooftop event space.

There will be a separate entry for school groups and easier access to those who have disabilities.

This magnificent grand entryway is set to open later 2023.

The zoo also noted that they are featuring a brand new lemur habitat. This exhibit allows guests closer to the lemurs with a unique Lemur Skywalk. This allows the lemurs to leave their habitat and utilize a meshed overhead system over the zoo’s entry plaza for an amazing experience.

To help serve guests better, the zoo is restoring and repurposing the historic Money House and the surrounding grounds. Built in 1936, this building is one of the oldest in the zoo. The WPA-era building will be restored and outfitted with a café, stroller rental, sundry counter and accessible restrooms with universal changing rooms.
