San Antonio Zoo Hosts Members-Only ‘Dinos After Dark’ Event Friday Night
SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio Zoo members are invited to experience the zoo after hours this Friday during Dinos After Dark, an exclusive evening event featuring illuminated dinosaurs, live entertainment and prehistoric-themed activities.
The free members-only event will take place Friday, July 24, from 7 to 10 p.m., offering guests a unique opportunity to explore the zoo after sunset while enjoying the limited-time Zoorassic Park, presented by Bank of Texas.
During the evening, the zoo will transform into a prehistoric landscape complete with colorful lighting, fog-filled pathways and 22 life-sized animatronic dinosaurs illuminated for nighttime viewing. The after-hours experience also includes special photo opportunities throughout the park.
Guests can enjoy a variety of live entertainment, including a DJ, fire dancer, stilt walker, roaming paleontologists and the interactive Jurassic S.A. Dinosaur Experience.
Food will also get a prehistoric twist with specialty menu items available for purchase, including Volcano Nachos, Flintstone Ribs and Pterodactyl Legs.
As a thank-you to members, each guest will receive one complimentary popcorn voucher, one free toy dinosaur while supplies last and unlimited carousel rides during the event. A complimentary member ZooBand is required for entry and will be distributed upon arrival.
The event coincides with Zoorassic Park, the zoo’s seasonal attraction that runs through Sept. 7. Presented by Bank of Texas, the exhibit features 22 life-sized animatronic dinosaurs placed throughout the zoo, including a towering Tyrannosaurus rex, Triceratops, Velociraptor and other prehistoric giants that move, roar and interact with guests as they explore the grounds.
For those who aren’t yet members, San Antonio Zoo offers four membership levels, including its popular “Pay for a Day, Get a Year Free” option. Guests can purchase a membership online before the event to gain admission to Dinos After Dark while also enjoying year-round zoo benefits.
