San Antonio Zoo has a challenge for you

The San Antonio Zoo just launched it’s “Straws No Mas” campaign. The zoo is getting the word out to help end the non-biodegradable utensil that we get from restaurants we all know as straws.

According to the website, it’s states that 19 billion pounds of plastic which includes plastic straws end up in our oceans every year.

In recent news, a whale that was found dead had more than 1,000 pieces of plastic in it’s stomach. In the United States, we alone use over  500,000,000 plastic straws that will eventually end up in landfills or in the stomachs of animals.

So the zoo is starting with it’s home city San Antonio to end the use of straws with “Straws No Mas!” pledge.
