SAN ANTONIO, TX – July 10, 2025 – Lace up your running shoes and get ready to race for a cause! This fall, the San Antonio Zoo is thrilled to celebrate the 40th Annual Zoo Run, a beloved community event that brings together families, athletes, and wildlife advocates for a fun and meaningful weekend in support of conservation.
Known as the “wildest race in town,” the Zoo Run invites participants to experience the thrill of running through zoo grounds while supporting a future for wildlife. This milestone event will take place over two days:

Adult Zoo Run: Friday, September 5, from 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM

Kids Zoo Run: Saturday, September 6, from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM
“What began as a community fun run has evolved into a highly anticipated annual tradition that fuels a powerful cause—a future for wildlife,” said Tim Morrow, President & CEO of San Antonio Zoo. “Whether you’re running for the cause, fitness, or just for fun, participating in the 40th Annual Zoo Run is your chance to make a difference and have a roaring good time doing it!”

Participants can choose between two exciting adult race formats:

A 2-mile team relay (teams of four)

A 4-mile individual race
Children will also have the chance to run wild with:

A 0.25-mile race for ages 1–5
-
A 0.5-mile race for ages 6–11

To mark the 40th year of this iconic event, a $40 Early Bird Special is available for adult runners now through July 31, but space is limited.
Spectator tickets for the Kids Race are also available for $12 each (with proof of registration), limited to 6 per participant.
