San Antonio Welcomes the H-E-B Christmas Tree to Travis Park for 40th Annual Tree Lighting Celebration
SAN ANTONIO, TX (November 20, 2024) – The holiday season in San Antonio officially began this morning with the arrival of the H-E-B Christmas Tree at Travis Park, marking the 40th year of this cherished annual tradition. The tree, a gift from H-E-B to the City of San Antonio, will shine brightly during the 40th Annual H-E-B Tree Lighting Celebration on Friday, Nov. 29.
A Festive Evening of Free Activities
The festivities, free and open to the public, kick off at 4 p.m. and will feature a variety of activities for all ages, including:
- Holiday crafts and free giveaways
- Writing letters to Santa
- Live musical entertainment
- A special visit from Santa Claus himself
At 6 p.m., following a short program, the switch will be flipped to light the 40-foot Christmas tree, officially illuminating Travis Park with holiday cheer. Guests will also enjoy a free screening of the holiday classic “Home Alone 2” starting at 7 p.m.
Community Perks
In the spirit of giving, H-E-B is offering free VIA bus rides to and from the tree-lighting event, as well as free ice skating at Travis Park’s skating rink from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
