San Antonio to resume New Year’s Eve Celebration downtown
The City of San Antonio along with the Parks Foundation had made the decision to open up and continue their downtown tradition that takes place on Alamo Plaza, La Villita and Hemisfair. Last year, the celebration had gone virtual because of the pandemic situation.
The party will open up at 6pm until the clock strikes midnight marking the new year. The event is free, for all ages and open to the public.
Entertainment provided this year will be live by DJ Catwalk an Andria Rose. High energetic 10-member band Mélange will close out the festivities on the main stage.
Then not so far away at the Arneson River Theatre stage next to the Riverwalk, will be the Vibe 107.5 stage that will be hosted by Xavier the Freakin’ Rican, the morning show host that is on Vibe 107.5 radio station.
At the corner of South Alamo Street and César Chávez Boulevard, there will be a midway with games, rides and attractions for all to enjoy.
South Alamo and Villita Way will be packed with food booths in case hunger strikes.
The celebration will end with a firework show.
The event draws around 70,000 or more people.
