The City of San Antonio has announced that they will be continuing their annual traditional dyeing of the river green that transforms the great San Antonio River into River Shannon. Crews will start dyeing the river starting Saturday, March 14th and keep the color through St. Patrick’s Day Wednesday, March 17th.
The green dye is made with an eco-friendly green formula that will be swirled into the water by boat. The color instantly appears and intensifies with the movement of the boats.
With the weather warming up, spectators can grab a chair at their favorite pub, grab a pint and enjoy the show.
However, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the city will not be holding their traditional St. Patrick’s Day parade and festival to keep crowds to a minimum.
