San Antonio Spurs Bring Back Silver Dancers for 2026-27 Season
Auditions Open for Silver Dancers and Spurs Hype Squad Through June 28
SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Spurs are expanding their in-game entertainment lineup for the 2026-27 NBA season with the return of the Silver Dancers, bringing back a familiar part of the franchise’s game-day tradition while continuing to grow fan engagement both inside the arena and throughout the community.
The organization announced Monday that the Silver Dancers will join the Spurs Hype Squad as part of an enhanced entertainment program designed to elevate the experience for fans attending games and community events.
“We’re always looking for ways to make the Spurs game-day experience more exciting and engaging for our fans,” said Jordan Mandelkorn, Vice President of Marketing, Creative & Retail for Spurs Sports & Entertainment. “The Silver Dancers and Hype Squad each bring their own energy, skillset and connection to our fans, and we’re excited to expand our entertainment lineup in a way that reflects the spirit of the Spurs both on the court and in the community.”
Registration for auditions is now open and will remain available through Sunday, June 28. Interested performers can apply for either the Silver Dancers or Spurs Hype Squad by visiting Spurs.com/Auditions.
A Return to Spurs Tradition
The Silver Dancers were once a recognizable staple of the Spurs game-day experience and their return marks a nostalgic moment for longtime fans while introducing a new generation to a beloved part of the franchise’s entertainment history.
The women’s dance team will perform at select Spurs home games and community events throughout the season. Team members will help lead fan engagement initiatives and provide high-energy performances designed to enhance the atmosphere inside the arena and at Spurs-related events across San Antonio.
According to the organization, the return of the Silver Dancers reflects the team’s commitment to expanding entertainment offerings while honoring a meaningful part of Spurs culture.
Hype Squad Continues to Energize Fans
Joining the Silver Dancers will be the Spurs Hype Squad, presented by Planet Fitness. The co-ed performance team features dancers, breakdancers, tumblers and stunters who perform at Spurs home games and community appearances.
Since its launch in 2018, the Hype Squad has become a key part of the Spurs entertainment experience and has represented the organization internationally with appearances in France, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Brazil and Taiwan.
In addition to performing during games, Hype Squad members serve as community ambassadors and role models, helping strengthen connections between the Spurs organization and fans throughout South Texas.
Auditions Underway
The Spurs are encouraging performers from diverse backgrounds and skill sets to audition. Both the Silver Dancers and Hype Squad will emphasize a wide range of talents and experiences as part of the selection process.
