San Antonio skyline to be lit crimson and gold to honor George Floyd
San Antonio’s signature buildings will light up in crimson and gold to honor George Floyd. In unison the Tower of the Americas, the Frost Bank tower, the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center will all turn their lights in the colors that represented Jack Yates High School in Houston. The school Floyd attended and played football at.
“We are happy to be part of this effort organized by the U.S. Conference of Mayors and the African American Mayors Association,” said Mayor Ron Nirenberg, who said that Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner personally requested that San Antonio join in recognizing Floyd.
Per Mayor @SylvesterTurner’s request, City Halls from Tacoma to Boston are lighting up in crimson and gold — Yates HS colors — to honor George Floyd.
Including: Augusta, Boston, Denver, Jersey City, LA, Miami, NYC, Newark, Columbia, SC, Tacoma, and Louisville, KY
