San Antonio River gets dyed green(er) for St. Patrick’s Day events

It’s that time of year again San Antonio! The annual dying of the river green will be taking place downtown on Friday, March 17th and Saturday, March 18th and is proudly sponsored by MadDogs.

About 25 gallons of eco friendly dye will be applied to the San Antonio River downtown.

To witness the transformation of the San Antonio River into River Shannon, here are the times of application.

– Friday, March 17 | 1-3 p.m. | Downtown stretch
– Saturday, March 18 | 11 a.m.-12 p.m. | Museum Reach
– Saturday, March 18 | 1-3 p.m. | Downtown stretch

A celebration of events to take place on Friday, March 17th 3pm – 8pm for the Bud Light St. Patrick’s Festival then happening again on Saturday, March 18 – noon till 5pm. There will be activities for all-ages, live entertainment and more! Best of all it’s free admission.

Then on Saturday, March 18th from 2pm till 3pm at the Museum Reach then again at 5pm till 6pm downtown, witness a procession of 12 Irish-themed decorative river barges that are filled with Irish entertainment along the river.
