San Antonio restaurants and bars roll out FIFA World Cup watch parties and themed specials

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Soccer fans across San Antonio have plenty of places to catch the excitement of the FIFA World Cup, with several local restaurants and bars introducing themed food, drink specials and watch party experiences throughout the tournament.

From downtown hotel lounges to neighborhood ice houses and local bakeries, fans can cheer on their favorite teams while enjoying exclusive menu items and game-day atmospheres.

The Gunter Hotel

Downtown’s historic Gunter Hotel is transforming Keystone Club and Bar 414 into a World Cup destination during select tournament matches.

Guests can watch featured games across multiple viewing screens while taking advantage of $5 international beers and $5 shots for 15 minutes after every goal scored.

The food menu includes beef empanadas served with cilantro-jalapeño crema for $8 and Crossroads Cracklings for $8, giving fans plenty to snack on throughout the match.

Adding to the experience, the hotel’s resident vinyl ambassadors will curate matchday-inspired playlists based on the countries competing, creating a unique atmosphere before, during and after each game.

The Gunter Hotel is located at 205 E. Houston St.

La Panadería

La Panadería is bringing the tournament into its bakeries with a limited-edition GOAL concha available throughout the World Cup season.

The themed sweet bread is priced at $2 and will be available daily during regular business hours while supplies last.

Fans can also stay for the action, as every La Panadería location is now equipped with new televisions that will livestream World Cup matches throughout the tournament.

Otto’s Ice House

Otto’s Ice House is inviting fans to gather along the San Antonio River for several marquee World Cup watch parties.

Upcoming featured matches include:

  • United States vs. Türkiye on Thursday, June 25 at 9 p.m.
  • Semifinal match on Tuesday, July 14 at 2 p.m.
  • World Cup Final on Sunday, July 19 at 2 p.m.

Guests can enjoy multiple sound-on televisions, a spacious backyard and rotating food and drink specials featuring steak, pollo asado and select beers.
