San Antonio on the short list for new Space Command headquarters
The Pentagon just placed San Antonio, Texas on the short list for the U.S. Space Command headquarters at Port San Antonio.
Six other cities are also on the list for the headquarters, such as Peterson AFB in Colorado Springs, CO., Patrick AFB near Cocoa Beach, FL., Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque NM., Offutt AFB in Omaha NE., and Redstone Army Airfield in Huntsville, AL.
Beforehand there were 50 communities but were narrowed down to six. A final decision will be made as early as next year.
