San Antonio Offers Free Landfill Day for Residents to Dispose of Bulky Waste

SAN ANTONIO, TX (October 29, 2024) – San Antonio residents have the opportunity to clear out unwanted bulky waste for free during this year’s Free Landfill Day event, taking place on Saturday, November 2, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This bi-annual event, organized by the City of San Antonio, allows residents to dispose of large household items at no cost at two local landfills.
To participate, residents must bring a valid ID and a current CPS Energy bill that reflects payment of the “Environmental Fee,” which serves as proof of residency. Additionally, all loads must be covered with a tarp for transport.

Bagged litter (only accepted at landfills)

Tires (up to 6 passenger car tires per household)

Brick
Brush
Commercial waste
Construction materials/waste
Dirt
