Aldape became a household name in 2017 after his memorable appearance on Univision Channel 41 at the age of 51, where he delivered what became his signature phrase: “Nombre, shut up… Go Spurs Go.” His infectious energy and love for the Spurs resonated with fans, cementing him as a symbol of the Puro San Antonio spirit.

A proud alumnus of McCollum High School, Aldape spent his life in San Antonio, where he became a regular at local events, especially Fiesta, embodying the city’s festive and close-knit culture. His presence, always full of laughter and love, will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

“Oh my Tio Felipe Aldape. This hurts so much💔… Thank you for all the love you showed us, the phone calls to check in, and simply to tell us you love us,” Villasana wrote. She recalled Aldape’s dedication to family, his unwavering love for his late daughter Priscilla, and the way he made everyone feel cherished.
“He was never alone as he wished,” Villasana added, expressing gratitude that the family was able to come together to be by his side in his final days.
