SAN ANTONIO, TX โ€” Several of San Antonioโ€™s most recognizable landmarks are glowing blue this week in support of Autoimmune Awareness Month, joining a global effort to bring attention to millions living with autoimmune diseases.

From March 23 through March 26, the Alamodome, Henry B. Gonzรกlez Convention Center, Tower of the Americas, and Marriott Rivercenter are illuminated in blue as part of an international campaign led by the Autoimmune Association. The visual display aims to raise awareness for the more than 50 million Americans affected by autoimmune conditions.

Autoimmune diseases are often described as invisible illnesses, frequently misunderstood and under-recognized despite their widespread impact on individuals and families. Organizers say lighting landmarks in blue serves as a powerful symbol to spark conversation and increase understanding.

The San Antonio initiative is being coordinated by ISI City Smart Lights in collaboration with local partners, including Alamo Quarry Market, which is also participating in the effort during the same timeframe.

City leaders and organizers say the effort is about more than lighting buildings โ€” itโ€™s about building awareness and showing support for those living with these conditions.

The campaign extends beyond San Antonio, with landmarks across multiple countries participating through coordinated light displays, media outreach, and community engagement initiatives.
