San Antonio Fire Department reminds the public to not call 911 to schedule vaccination appointments

San Antonio, please don’t dial 911 to make an appointment to schedule a COVID-19 vaccination appointment. It doesn’t work that way says the San Antonio Fire Department who issued a PDA on social media.

The announcement reads:

In our effort to provide the covid-19 vaccine to our most at risk patients, we ask that you please do not call 911 in order to try and schedule a vaccine appointment. The at home vaccinations for our home-bound population, that was mentioned in tonightโ€™s daily briefing with Mayor Nirenberg and Judge Wolff, are pre- scheduled based off of lists provided by strategic local partners and CANNOT be scheduled by calling, emailing, or online. Current vaccine appointments scheduled for the Alamodome MAY NOT be rescheduled to at home appointments. Thank you for on going patience and understanding.
If you need assistance on making an appointment, call 311 or 210-207-6000 or register online. Just don’t hold up 911 resources.
