San Antonio based H-E-B opening two new stores in North Texas

San Antonio based grocery giant H-E-B just announced that they’re opening up two new stores in North Texas. One grocery store will be located in the city of Plano and the other in Frisco, just north of Dallas.

This is a major deal because there is only a few stores already south of Dallas in Ennis, Burleson, and Waxahachie. Also there is an H-E-B to the west of Fort Worth in Weatherford. H-E-B owns Central Market which is gourmet grocery store that has higher end foods has 5 locations in Dallas. They’re not the same as an H-E-B store through.

The company has H-E-B and H-E-B Plus! stores spread throughout Central, South and East Texas throughout their 116 years of business. This is a big game changer for the local grocery giant as they start constructing more stores in the Dallas metroplex.

H-E-B has made $32 billion in annual sales with their 420 stores across the Lone Star state and Mexico. They are a very large employer with 137,000 partners.

They mayor of Plano, Texas Harry LaRosiliere released a statement Friday:

“We are so proud H-E-B chose the City of Excellence to launch their ever-popular grocery concept locally. This flagship store will add to the fabric of our community and that makes us Texan and special. Welcome H-E-B!”
