San Antonio 9/11 Memorial Honors Lives Lost in September 11 Attacks
SAN ANTONIO – As the nation remembers the lives lost during the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, San Antonio is home to a memorial dedicated to ensuring their memory is never forgotten.
Located at 6610 Highway 90 West, the San Antonio 9/11 Memorial was built by New Life Christian Center in 2003 and dedicated two years after the September 11 attacks as a place of remembrance, reflection and honor for the victims.
The approximately 10,000-square-foot landmark features four distinct structures, with each carrying its own symbolic meaning and significance connected to the events of September 11.
The memorial serves as a local tribute to the thousands of people who lost their lives in the attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, and aboard United Airlines Flight 93 in Pennsylvania.
More than two decades later, September 11 remains a day of remembrance across the United States, honoring not only those who died but also the first responders, service members and countless others whose lives were forever changed by the attacks.
The San Antonio memorial provides the community with a place to reflect on that history and remember the lives behind one of the most consequential days in modern American history.
