Safety Improvements & Road Construction Coming to San Antonio’s Pleasanton Rd.
SAN ANTONIO, TX – March 11, 2025 – Major safety improvements are on the way for Pleasanton Rd./Moursund Blvd., bringing much-needed traffic and pedestrian enhancements to the area. The San Antonio Transportation Department, in collaboration with TxDOT, has announced a series of upgrades aimed at reducing crashes and improving safety for all road users.
Project Details & Enhancements
The project, funded through City resources and a TxDOT Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) grant, includes:
🚦 A new signalized intersection at Rayburn Drive to enhance traffic flow and safety.
🚶♂️ Three mid-block crossings equipped with Pedestrian Hybrid Beacons (PHBs), which will provide warning lights to alert drivers when pedestrians enter the crosswalk.
🚧 Installation of medians to help manage traffic and reduce collisions.
