Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series San Antonio Brings Non-Stop Live Music to its Final Fiesta
SAN ANTONIO, Texas, (Nov. 21, 2024) – The Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series San Antonio is set to host its 16th and final celebration on December 7-8, bringing runners and spectators together for a weekend of music, fitness, and community spirit. With over 30 diverse musical acts planned, the event promises a memorable San Antonio sendoff featuring country, mariachi, hip hop, rock, and more.
One of the most anticipated highlights is Mariachi Mile, a vibrant stretch of the course showcasing mariachi musicians and dancers, paying homage to the city’s Latin heritage. Another fan-favorite, Military Mile at Fort Sam, will be alive with patriotic tunes from the Cole High School Band, the Air Force Band, and the Army Band, creating a sense of pride and celebration.
The entertainment doesn’t stop there—runners crossing the finish line at UTSA’s Downtown Campus will be treated to a high-energy performance by country star Tom Yankton.

Tom Yankton, a 2024 ACMA Entertainer of the Year Nominee and former instrumentalist for Rascal Flatts, will close out the series with a dynamic performance. Known for his multi-instrumental talents, Yankton has graced stages alongside legends like Luke Bryan and The Rolling Stones and has appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Today Show, and at The Grand Ole Opry.
“We have been honored to be part of the St. Jude Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon over the past several years to support this incredibly worthwhile cause,” Yankton shared. “I’m thrilled to be performing for the race in San Antonio, where I now live with my family.”

For those craving electronic vibes, youth DJs from San Antonio’s The AM Project will bring the beats to Travis Park on Saturday and the Alamodome on Sunday. “The Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series motivates me and the kids,” said Louis Cardenas, Creative Director of The AM Project. “We just like to give them a party.”
Returning for their 9th year, Elora & Gasoline Alley will light up the course on Sunday with their signature rock sound. Elora Valdez, a fourth-grade teacher by day and rockstar on weekends, performs alongside her brother Nick, a Radio, Television, and Film student. Their positive energy is sure to inspire runners as they power through the final stretch. Find them at the corner of E. Cesar Chavez and Hemisfair Blvd.
