Emmer & Rye Hospitality Group, the culinary force behind some of Texas’s most renowned dining establishments, has announced the much-anticipated opening of Pullman Market, a colossal 40,000-square-foot culinary market at the heart of Pearl in San Antonio. Set to open its doors in Spring 2024, Pullman Market promises to be the largest culinary market in the Southwest, offering an array of dining experiences and artisanal offerings.
Kevin Fink, co-founder of Emmer & Rye Hospitality Group, expressed his excitement about creating a unique culinary experience for both locals and visitors. Fink stated, “Pullman Market is a place to celebrate all things food. It’s about creating easier relationships with local food and producers, and we are excited to share it with the community.”
Located in Pearl, the dynamic neighborhood surrounding the historic Pearl Brewery just north of downtown San Antonio, Pullman Market adds another layer to the evolving culinary landscape of the area. Designed by award-winning Texas architecture firms Clayton Korte and Burton Baldridge, Pullman Market is positioned as a culinary destination within the vibrant Pearl community.
Pullman Market will host four full-service restaurants, each offering a distinct culinary experience. Fife & Farro, a family-friendly eatery, specializes in homemade pizza and pasta, while Mezquite focuses on the rich cuisine of Sonora, Mexico, accompanied by a mezcal bar. Isidore promises an elevated dining experience with a changing menu, requiring reservations, and Nicosi, created by award-winning Pastry Chef Tavel Bristol-Joseph, will be an intimate dessert bar with an 18-seat capacity and a no-phone policy.
In addition to the restaurants, Pullman Market will house a grocery section featuring Texas-based produce and seasonal specialties. The market will also offer casual to-go concepts, providing a diverse range of culinary delights such as burgers, ice cream, tacos, sandwiches, ceviche, and coffee.
Mesha Milsap, Pearl CEO, commented, “Pullman Market is a wonderful complement to the vibrant culinary, retail, and cultural landscape that defines Pearl today. The success of our Pearl Farmers Market the past 14 years shows that our neighborhood supports local farmers, chefs, and food enthusiasts.”
Emmer & Rye Hospitality Group, led by partners Kevin Fink, Tavel Bristol-Joseph, Alicynn Fink, Berty Richter, and Rand Egbert, has curated an impressive portfolio of restaurants across Texas. The team is collaborating with Tom Schnuck, who brings his extensive experience in managing successful restaurant groups and supporting emerging chefs.
