Port San Antonio Greenlights Next Phase of Innovation Tower, A Landmark for the Future of Tech Port

SAN ANTONIO, TX (March 19, 2025) – Port San Antonio has taken a major step forward in shaping the future of its rapidly expanding Tech Port campus, as its Board of Directors unanimously approved the next phase of Innovation Tower, a landmark project designed to elevate San Antonio’s standing as a global leader in advanced technology and innovation.
On March 18, the Board approved a $7.5 million investment to transition the project from its preliminary phase to finalized architectural plans, budgeting, and scheduling. The design phase is expected to take one year, with groundbreaking projected for 2026 and completion set for 2028.
The tower’s conceptual design, developed by Pelli Clarke & Partners and led by architect Bill Butler, will serve as an iconic beacon for the 1,900-acre Tech Port campus. Over the past few years, Port San Antonio has seen unprecedented growth, adding over 9,000 new jobs to bring the total workforce on campus to 18,000 employees.

Port San Antonio continues to experience rapid expansion, with 750,000 square feet of new facilities built since 2017—including the Boeing Center at Tech Port, a K-12 Compass Rose school, and major industrial and office complexes.
