Popular downtown bar undergoes Irish theme and name change

Maddy McMurphy’s takes over the spot where The Ticket Sports Bar (420 E. Houston St.) used to be.  The establishment states that they are the only Irish sports bar in downtown. This means that you can find your favorite basketball, football, baseball, hockey, boxing and UFC fights on many HD TV’s and their video wall making every seat in the house the best.

Of course walking around downtown can build up a thirst and at Maddy McMurphy’s, you can find fifteen beers on ice-cold tap as well as bottled beers.

If you’re hungry, of course you can check out the menu that has Big League wings, Mott Street meatballs, tenderloin steak and cheese sandwich or the pizzas.

Some of the food options include The Alamodome Nachos which are double stacked nacho chips with house made chili con carne , bacon infused queso, pico de gallo, sour cream, guacamole, and jalapeños. Also you have to try the Brauhaus Super Pretzel which is a “colossal pretzel served with a ration of bacon, beer cheese, and spicy German mustard with a hint of local honey.

The owners of Maddy McMurphy’s, Mad Dogs Restaurant Group also own Mad Dogs British Pub, On the Bend, and The BierGarten. The Ticket Sports bar was acquired by the restaurant group in November 2018.
