Polly Lou Livingston was born May 6, 1929 at Santa Rosa Hospital in San Antonio, TX. Polly had enjoyed a childhood with countless stories including one about her dog driving the family car down Main Street.
In 2008, Polly began in Penn Ward’s cast of his Emmy Award winning animated cartoon “Adventure Time” playing the part of a sexy little green elephant named Tree Trunks. This character turned Polly into a worldwide icon in pop culture. That spirit will live on.
In 2014, Polly was awarded “Best Dressed Woman of San Antonio” by the San Antonio Current. Polly was a local fashionista and had mentioned in an interview that she has been playing dress up before she was even born.
Polly had sat on the Dean’s Council of Fine Arts at the University of Texas and the Gala Committee for UT’s Center for the Performing Arts.
January 24, 2021, Polly had peacefully passed away at her home. She was surrounded by family such as her children, grandchildren and beloved caregivers. Polly will be laid to rest in Victoria, Texas alongside her family at the Evergreen Jewish Cemetery.
There will be a video memorial service on Sunday, February 21, 2021 through Temple Beth at 4 p.m. central time. In lieu of flowers the family asks to consider donating to the Texas Performing Arts at the University of Texas at Austin or the Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee.
