SAN ANTONIO (August 13, 2025) โ The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) announced that the I-10 eastbound exit ramp to UTSA Boulevard will permanently close beginning Monday, Aug. 18, 2025, as part of the ongoing Loop 1604 North Expansion Project.
The closure is necessary to facilitate construction of new flyover ramps in the area. Weather permitting, the exit will be closed starting at 4 a.m. on Monday, and drivers are urged to follow posted detour signs.

Option 1:
Motorists traveling on I-10 eastbound north of the Loop 1604 interchange should use Exit 556B to the I-10 eastbound frontage road. Continue through the Loop 1604 interchange and turn onto UTSA Boulevard. -
Option 2:
Motorists traveling on I-10 eastbound south of the Loop 1604 interchange should use Exit 558 to the I-10 eastbound frontage road. Take the turnaround at De Zavala Road to access the I-10 westbound frontage road, then turn onto UTSA Boulevard.
The Loop 1604 North Expansion Project is designed to improve traffic flow and connectivity in one of San Antonioโs busiest travel corridors. TxDOT encourages drivers to plan ahead, expect delays, and use caution when traveling through the construction zone.
