MLK

People from all over San Antonio will be marching at the largest Martin Luther King, Jr. march in the nation. Over 300,000 people attend the march annually.

The event begins at 3501 MLK Drive (MLK Academy) and marches 2.75 miles to Pitman-Sullivan Park at 1101 Iowa Street.

VIA will be helping out with fare-free service.

VIA will pick up passengers from two locations on Monday, January 20, 2020 starting at 8 a.m. till 10 a.m.

  • Freeman Coliseum at 3201 E. Houston St. (Lot 1)
  • St. Philips College at 1801 Martin Luther King Dr. (Lot 22) which is at Montana and Mittman streets

Passengers will be dropped off on MLK Drive west of Upland Drive

Busses will return service picking up passengers at Pittman-Sulivan Park starting at Noon till 3 p.m.

  • Dilworth from New Braunfels to Welhousen
  • Harding from New Braunfels to Welhousen
  • Nevada from New Braunfels to Connelly
  • Dakota from New Braunfels to Connelly
  • St. Anthony from Iowa to Virginia
  • Palmetto from Virginia to Montana
  • MLK Dr. from Piedmont to Palmetto
  • Nevada from Piedmont to New Braunfels (VIA Park and Ride)
  • Paul from Piedmont to Palmetto
  • Dakota from Toledo to New Braunfels (School Bus pickup)
  • Wyoming from Toledo to Palmetto
