LIVE OAK, Texas — Construction continues on the new University Health Retama Hospital, with the future healthcare facility reaching another milestone as community leaders recently received an exclusive look at its progress.

University Health President and CEO Jeremy Riney welcomed members of the Northeast Partnership for a hard hat tour, offering an inside look at the hospital’s construction and the advanced medical services it will bring to one of the region’s fastest-growing areas.

Live Oak Mayor Mary Dennis highlighted the importance of the investment, emphasizing the role the new hospital will play in expanding access to healthcare for local residents.

“Investments like the new University Health Retama Hospital ensure our residents have access to the healthcare they need,” Dennis said.

Once completed, the hospital is expected to provide expanded healthcare services for patients and families throughout Northeast Bexar County, helping meet the area’s growing demand for quality medical care.

University Health anticipates opening the Retama Hospital in early 2027, marking a significant addition to the region’s healthcare infrastructure. The facility is expected to serve as a vital resource for surrounding communities while supporting continued growth across Northeast Bexar County.
