San Antonio, TX – April 3, 2025 – A brand-new direct connector ramp will officially open this Saturday, April 5, providing a smoother and more efficient route for drivers traveling from westbound State Highway 151 to northbound Loop 1604 in far west San Antonio.

This long-awaited infrastructure upgrade is set to significantly improve traffic flow and reduce travel times in one of the city’s busiest growth corridors. The direct ramp offers a streamlined alternative to previous detour routes, making it easier for commuters to transition between the two major highways.

As part of the ramp’s launch, the current temporary entrance ramp to SH 151 located just before Culebra Road will be closed permanently beginning Friday, April 4 at 9:00 PM to accommodate the new traffic pattern.

Motorists are encouraged to plan accordingly and stay alert to signage as crews make the final preparations for Saturday morning’s opening.

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) urges all drivers to exercise caution during the transition period and thanks the community for their patience as improvements continue across the region.
