The producers that brought the EDM Drive-In experience just resurrected the Southside iconic drive-in movies.

All due to the COVID-19 pandemic, businesses had to abruptly change their plans and quick. As for the drive-in industry, it was never dead. It was just sleeping. Now, experiencing the drive-in movies is one of the best ways to practice social distancing while enjoying a movie with the family.

โ€œThe Mission is not just a place, it is part of the fabric of the Southside. I remember going to the drive in as a child. It was a big deal. It was something we would look forward to. I feel that our community needs The Mission now more than ever in light of the pandemic. We need something to look forward to.โ€ – Fred Reyes

For those interested on going, you do need to purchase a ticket online because none can be bought on-site. Tickets are non-refundable unless the screening is cancelled.

Only one ticket is required per vehicle, so you can fit as many (safely) inside wearing a seatbelt. According to their website, the show will go on rain or shine. Tickets will be scanned upon arrival and parking staff will safely guide you to a parking spot.

All guests must remain inside their vehicle unless enjoying the flick in the hatchback or the bed of a truck or with the convertible top down. There will be restrooms but if you plan on taking a visit, you must mask up.

Movies will be broadcasted via FM transmitter that can be heard from your car radio or if you bring a portable radio. Vehicle engine must remain off during the duration of the film but staff can assist you if you encounter a dead battery.

So pack the family, bring snacks and drinks or visit the concession stand.
