Mayor Ron Nirenberg in quarantine after brief exposure with COVID-19 positive person
On Tuesday, Mayor of San Antonio, Ron Nirenberg is quarantining himself for fourteen days. This is after he learned that he came in contact with an individual who had later tested positive for COVID-19.
Nirenberg said that he was wearing a mask at the time of exposure and is currently awaiting test results.
Health officials had assured Nirenberg that anyone he had came in contact was not at any elevated risk of contracting the virus.
The mayor will be out and monitoring his symptoms but will still be conducting all his city duties remotely.
Mayor Nirenberg reminds the community that we need to stay vigilant due to rising cases, continue to wear masks and frequently wash hands and keeping distance while in public.
